  • From 1901 on, Corinth lived in Berlin and belonged to the Berlin Secession, an art movement artists such as Max Slevogt and Max Liebermann are associated with. His drawings of the Eosander Portal at the Berlin Castle are a perfect example for the artistic style of Impressionism. The lightness of the drawing contrasts with the heaviness of the motif. It was a motif Corinth engaged with in various techniques, such as the painting "Schlossfreiheit" from 1923 shows nicely (104 × 79 cm, Staatliche Museen Preussischer Kulturbesitz, Nationalgalerie Berlin). Signs of aging, cut.
