ISTANBUL BIENNIAL 2015
Artusiast visited the 14th Istanbul Biennial, a city-wide exhibition held in a variety of different venues and organised by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV).
On June 17th, ARTUSIAST proudly opened its first international exhibition Universal Modernism with a reception and private viewing. "ImEx"-exhibition at the Alte Nationalgalerie
The Alte Nationalgalerie in Berlin is currently showing the exhibition "ImEx. Impressionismus - Expressionismus", a project which concentrates on the comparison of impressionistic and expressionistic works. The show features 170 pieces, mainly from the museums own collection. Visit the beautiful museum island and discover the exhibition, which is on display until September 20th, 2015.

Art Cologne 2015 Recap
Last week, museum directors, curators, collectors and art lovers once again strolled through the exhibition center which housed the world's oldest art fair for modern and contemporary art. 209 international galleries showcased paintings, sculptures, photographs, prints, multiples, installations and performance art from the 20th and 21st century at Art Cologne this year. All about Affiches
"In little more than a hundred years", writes affiche expert John Barnicoat, "it has come to be recognized as a vital art form, attracting artists at every level, from painters like Toulouse-Lautrec and Mucha to theatrical and commercial designers." Affiches are posters, especially ones drawn by an artist, for example for the opening of an exhibition. They date back to 1870, when the printing industry perfected colour lithography and made mass production possible.

Germany divided: Baselitz and his generation
The British Museum is showing "Germany Divided - Baselitz and His Generation". The exhibition comprises over 90 works including prints and drawings by some of the most important and influential German postwar artists. The six key figures whose works are on display - namely Georg Baselitz, Markus Lüpertz, Blinky Palermo, A.R. Penck, Sigmar Polke and Gerhard Richter - can be seen as paradigmatic icons redefining German art after World War II through their artistic practise on both sides of the Berlin wall.
